FOR CARDIFF ANNOUNCED AS TAFWYL HEADLINE SPONSOR

Tafwyl 2020 will take place over the weekend of 19 – 21 June 2020 in Bute Park, a new location known as the green heart of the city, behind Cardiff Castle, and a short walk from the city’s main high streets and civic centre.

Tafwyl attracts almost 40,000 people annually to the city centre, showcasing Welsh culture through an eclectic range of quality music performances, literature, drama, comedy, and art. It’s a great friendly and inclusive event – for families, Welsh learners and people experiencing Welsh language & culture for the very first time.

Today, 5 months ahead of the vibrant and free festival we are delighted to announce a renewed partnership, as we officially appoint FOR Cardiff as our main sponsor for 2020.  FOR Cardiff have been instrumental to the success of Tafwyl over the past couple of years, helping us to provide street entertainment and music; and enabling us to introduce the additional Friday evening in 2019.

Adrian Field – Executive Director, FOR Cardiff said;

“FOR Cardiff are passionate about investing in events that bring music, art and culture to Cardiff but also make a genuine economic impact, Tafwyl is an excellent example of both. We’re delighted to be the main sponsor for the festival and can’t wait to see how the new location and exciting new plans for 2020 unfold.”

Manon Rees-O’Brien Chief Executive Officer for Menter Caerdydd said;

“Music, art and culture are great ways to bring people together to socialise and enjoy, whether they are fluent Welsh speakers, the less confident speakers, learners and non-Welsh speakers. It unites an audience and offers everyone access to the Welsh language in our Capital City. Nowhere is it more obvious than Tafwyl to show this – which is a very proud annual celebration of our language. ”

Currently Tafwyl is taking applications to trade in the acclaimed Street Food area (closing date 31 January); and this will be followed with details how to trade in our highly sought after craft stalls. Expect further exciting announcements over the coming months as we announce line-ups and new initiatives.
