On 10th August 2023, FOR Cardiff held a wellbeing evening as part of The Card scheme at LUSH Spa Cardiff.
The Card scheme is a perk for employees of FOR Cardiff member businesses. The website platform and app gives members access to offers, discounts and events at Cardiff city centre businesses.
The demand for this event was huge with the tickets selling out within a few hours of being announced.
44 employees from 16 of our member businesses enjoyed an evening of relaxation and self-care with spa tours, product-making and free hand and arm massages.
As guests arrived they received a cold brew tea from Bird & Blend Tea. There were two cold brew flavours on offer, both inspired by cult LUSH products – Sleepy and Unicorn Poop.
To kick things off, guests played the ‘pass the knot wrap’ party game which is normally part of the LUSH children’s party package (you’re never too old for a party game!). Guests had the chance to win a product from LUSH’s new Barbie range.
Guests had a guided tour of the LUSH Spa which is located upstairs in the LUSH Cardiff store. A LUSH spa therapist introduced guests to popular spa treatments Karma, Synaesthesia and the Comforter which ranged from full body massage to holistic therapy.
They where also shown the ‘Book a Bath’ room where guests can book a self-led bathing experience inspired by nature and the outdoors.
While guests relaxed in a cosy area of the spa, Welsh poet Taylor Edmonds read poetry from her pamphlet Black Teeth and gave an introduction to creative journaling for wellbeing.
Downstairs guests were able to get hands on, making their own bath intergalactic bath bombs and enjoying a private shopping experience as the store was closed to the public. Guests enjoyed this relaxed shopping experience and 92% of attendees we surveyed purchased at least one product at the event.
FOR Cardiff also organised a competition to win one of two LUSH Tailor Made spa treatments. Guests who bought a LUSH charity pot were entered into the competition. All proceeds went to Heads Above the Waves, a local mental health charity that were at the event to raise awareness of the work they do.
£105 was raised for Heads Above the Waves during the 2 hour event through the LUSH charity pot scheme.
The feedback we got after the event was overwhelmingly positive with 100% of attendees surveyed satisfied with their experience. When asked to rate the event out of 5, the event scored an incredible 4.8 out of 5.
