FOR Cardiff Publishes City Centre Manifesto Ahead of Cardiff Council Local Elections

With a month to go until the Cardiff Council local elections, FOR Cardiff have published their recommendations for what the new administration should focus on over the coming term.

The newly published manifesto ties in with previous recommendations made to the Welsh Government in A Recovery Manifesto for Cities and High Streets, published in February 2021.

The recommendations of the Cardiff city centre manifesto focus on three main themes:

  • Setting: create a public realm to be proud of, upgrade the street scene and create a safe and accessible city centre.
  • Culture: celebrate what makes Cardiff, Cardiff and give our cultural venues and creative minds the tools they need to succeed.
  • Transport: use the post-pandemic opportunity to create a transport system that works for patterns beyond the Monday-Friday 9-5.

The next five years represent a critical time for Cardiff city centre and we look forward to working in partnership with the next council administration to deliver the best outcomes for Cardiff.
