Wales – The wait is finally over! Cardiff is set to welcome the much-loved Piano Works this May. A powerhouse of non-stop live music, show-stopping bands, mouth-watering food, and vibrant social spaces that will set a brand-new rhythm for the cityâs nightlife.
Opening its doors on 29th May 2025, The Piano Works Cardiff will bring its signature high-energy, live singalong experience to St Maryâs Street, promising an unforgettable night out where you control the playlist.
Backed by Nightcap Ltd., one of the UKâs leading hospitality groups, The Piano Works has already made waves in London with its Farringdon flagship and its buzzing Covent Garden venue in the West End. Cardiff marks the brandâs highly-anticipated first expansion outside of London.

What is The Piano Works?
The Piano Works is a one-of-a-kind nightlife concept that blends the electric energy of a live concert with the intimacy of a piano bar. It’s Londonâs only non-stop live music venue where the audience controls the playlist. Here’s how it works:
Audience Requests the Songs
- Every table is given request slipsâany song, any genre, any era.
- Thereâs no set list. The musicians respond to the audience in real time.
Live Band, No Backing Tracks
- A rotating line-up of talented musicians (starting with duelling pianists and building to a full band) plays everything live, no pre-recorded vocals, no backing tracks.
 Food, Cocktails & Club Energy
- With dining options, draught beer, cocktails, and table service, itâs the perfect spot for anything from an after work drink to a big night out
A Proven Hit in London
Since its launch in 2015, The Piano Works has become one of the UKâs most talked-about music venues. The Farringdon location took root in a converted Victorian warehouse, followed by a Leicester Square venue that opened in 2018 was relocated to Covent Garden in 2023. Nightcap accquired The Piano Works in 2024.
Now, Cardiff becomes the next stop for this audience-powered phenomenon.
