April in Cardiff: Easter Holidays Fun, Live Shows, and Songkran Celebrations!

April has arrived in Cardiff, bringing longer days, lighter evenings and a fresh energy to the city centre. With Easter still in full swing, spring events popping up across the capital and plenty of reasons to get out and explore, there’s no shortage of things to do in Cardiff this month. Here’s your guide to April in the city.

Easter Fun in the City

There’s still time to make the most of the Easter holidays in Cardiff. Our We’re Going on a Bear Hunt themed trail is running at St David’s Dewi Sant until 12 April, inviting families to explore the city centre through a fun, interactive adventure inspired by the much-loved children’s story.

With themed stops to discover along the way, it’s the perfect activity for little explorers and a great way to spend time together during the school break.

Live Sport in the Capital

Sporting energy continues into April as the Women’s Six Nations kicks off in Cardiff on 11 April, bringing more match-day excitement to the city centre throughout the month.

Whether you’re heading to the stadium or watching from your favourite venue, it’s another great opportunity to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy everything Cardiff has to offer on game day.

Live Events & Entertainment

April is packed with live entertainment, making it the perfect time to plan a night out in the city.

At Utilita Arena, a huge line-up of artists are set to take the stage, including Blue on 11 April, Yungblud on 18 April, The Prodigy on 19 April and Rick Astley on 21 April.

Over at New Theatre, you can catch comedian Chris Ramsey on 25 April, followed by Friends! The Musical on 27 April, bringing plenty of laughs and feel-good moments to round off the month.

Songkran Celebrations at Rosa’s Thai

Celebrate Thai New Year this April with something a little different at Rosa’s Thai.

To mark Songkran, guests dining between 1 and 30 April will have the chance to win a trip to Thailand, including flights and a five-night stay in Bangkok, in partnership with Singha Beer.

Alongside the competition, two limited-edition specials will be available throughout the month: Larb Gai (minced chicken salad) and Pineapple Fried Rice. It’s the perfect way to bring a taste of Thailand to Cardiff this spring.

Make the Most of April

From Easter adventures and live sport to big-name entertainment and seasonal dining, there are plenty of things to do in Cardiff this April. However you choose to spend it, the city centre is the perfect place to enjoy the new season.
