ESG Strategy 2024-25 Delivery Report

The FOR Cardiff ESG strategy was launched in October 2025, providing only two full months of operational  delivery. Despite this short window strong progress has been made toward several of the strategy goals.

Completed or new work

  • Improve the public realm through a litter picking event
We organised a litter picking event on the 2nd of October at Callaghan Square
    – 29 attendees from 6 different businesses
    – Collected 17 bags of rubbish in an hour
    – Post event survey results show that businesses saw value in the event and would like more volunteering opportunities

  • Transition company banking away from organisations linked to fossil fuels.

Moved FOR Cardiff banking from a high street provider with a very poor record in terms of fossil fuel investment to the Co-operative Bank which has a strong ethical policy and aims to achieve carbon negativity.

Calculated cO2 savings as – reduction of 100 tonnes of cO2 (previous provider per year = 118 tcO2 compared to Co-op at 16.4 tcO2) used MotherTree calculator.

This transition has actually resulted in improved treasury management options and reduced bank fees – demonstrating a positive financial as well as ethical impact

  • Offset any residual scope 1 and 2 emissions and achieve net neutrality within these scopes by November 2026
Offsetting 100 tCO2e via The Woodland Fund™ – Through Carbon Neutral Britain.

Office electricity and gas contracts have been transitioned to suppliers that offer renewable energy and offset and residual scope 2 emissions

  • Promote and coordinate an annual Cycle to Work Day
15 bikes marked and 10 serviced = £525 of social value (approx. worth £35 per bike service)

  • Christmas Park and Ride – service ran for 6 weekends from mid-November until weekend before Christmas. Total users 2921 (divided by 4 to calculate car numbers = 730)
0.730 tonnes of Co2 saved when using the World Land Trust calculator

(journeys set as approx 3 miles as that’s from Q-Park to Canal Street and back)

  • Changed suppliers of menstrual products for the FOR Cardiff office to TOTM, who are a Cardiff based company, registered B-Corp and use organic cotton in their products
