The University of South Wales and Music Declares Emergency are launching Wales’s first Future Generations Climate Convention – a series of panels, keynote talks and showcase projects dedicated to empowering young people in climate discussions – in partnership with touring and sustainability consultancy, Soliphilia and with support from Creative Wales.
This convention is an integral part of Immersed Festival 2024, providing a platform for dialogue, learning, and showcasing innovative projects that highlight the breadth and depth of climate actions and storytelling within the creative industries. Experts and leading figures from Wales and beyond will delve into topics spanning music, film, fashion, performance, and art, exploring inspirational thinking and progressive solutions.
🎥 Within the programme is an exclusive Experimental Short Film Screening created by BA Film students exploring ideas centred around the earth, humanity & the cosmos & how these elements connect with climate change to inspire a more hopeful future. The films focus on experimental techniques using image & sound to engage audiences cognitively, emotionally & sensorially.
🌐 Running parallel to the Convention is a Creative Industries Careers and Networking Fair where you can network with over 30+ creative agencies, festivals, production companies, media, community organisations, educators, retailers, venues, startups & freelancers.
🎉 Wrapping up is our Immersed Free Party Launch, hosted by USW Alumni, Lecturer and Vocialist Yasmin Davies from 7pm in the Zen Bar.
🎟️ All events are FREE with Eventbrite booking and open to everyone. Please help spread the word by sharing this event with your networks.
