FOR Cardiff Sponsor Tafwyl

FOR Cardiff are proud to sponsor Tafwyl, Cardiff’s annual Welsh language arts & culture festival.

Following the exciting announcement that Tafwyl will open its doors for an extra night this year, Tafwyl have announced their biggest line-up yet with 50 artists playing across four stages over the Saturday and Sunday.

The weekend festival will take place at the iconic Cardiff Castle on June 21 to 23. However, a fringe festival will be held across the capital as part of Tafwyl, with various events taking place in museums, libraries, cafes and bars between 15 – 23 June.

Tafwyl gives a platform to exciting young artists and celebrates Welsh, language arts and culture.

Thanks to the support of FOR Cardiff, many artists and street performers will have the opportunity to perform all over the capital this year, bringing the Tafwyl celebrations to city centre audiences and outside the castle walls for the first time.

Tafwyl co-ordinator, Llinos Williams said:

We love being able to showcase so many amazing artists each year, and introduce Welsh music to a new audience. This year’s line-up is one of the best yet and shows how eclectic and exciting things are in Welsh music at the moment.”

Adrian Field, Executive Director, FOR Cardiff said:

“FOR Cardiff are delighted to support Tafwyl. We want to maximise the presence of such a brilliant event to ensure people in the city centre could take advantage as well as providing another reason for people to come to Cardiff.”

As well as the feast of music there will be a variety of food and drink stalls from local vendors including Grazing Shed, Brother Thai and Ffwrnesas well as more bars than ever before.

On top of the music, the festival will continue to showcase the very best of Welsh arts, culture and sport. A full programme of literary, artistic, children, sporting and comedy events will be announced soon.

Entry to Tafwyl is free & open to all – Welsh speaker or not. It’s a great event for families, Welsh learners & people experiencing Welsh language & culture for the very first time.
