FOR CARDIFF WELCOMES FOUR NEW BOARD DIRECTORS

FOR Cardiff, the Business Improvement District (BID) for Cardiff city centre, has announced the recruitment of four new Board Directors following a highly competitive recruitment process.

The appointment of four new Directors brings significant breadth of expertise and sector representation, further reinforcing FOR Cardiff’s strategic leadership as it advances towards the ballot for its third term (2026-2031).

Each Director contributes a distinct yet complementary perspective which spans public sector and grant funding expertise, ESG and sustainability leadership, charitable sector insight and Cardiff Bay representation, together with experience in major events and commercial strategy.

Chris Jones returns to Cardiff after a period of living and working in London. He currently serves as Head of Public Sector for Trustmarque, which delivers digital transformation and technology services to public and private sector clients across Wales and the wider UK. He is due to join a Cardiff-based organisation on 1 April 2026. Chris adds invaluable public sector and business growth expertise to the Board.

Sophie Mullins’ expertise is rooted in sustainable solutions and responsible growth. Throughout her career she has played a central role in shaping operational practices which enhance efficiency while supporting organisational performance. Sophie brings a forward-looking sustainability perspective, with a strong understanding of how businesses can embed ESG principles into everyday decision-making.

Gareth McTiffin is Director of Experiences at Techniquest and brings a strong track record in transforming public-facing environments across the charitable and cultural sectors. He is also the first member of FOR Cardiff’s Board of Directors to represent a Cardiff Bay business which is a significant milestone as FOR Cardiff has proposed expanding the BD area to include Cardiff Bay in its third BID term.

William Owen contributes extensive insight into major events and commercial strategy through his role as General manager of Utilita Arena. His experience overseeing large-scale events, venue operations and commercial partnerships provides FOR Cardiff’s Board of Directors with a valuable understanding of the city’s events landscape and its wider economic potential.

Huw Llewellyn, Chair of FOR Cardiff’s Board of Directors said: “We are delighted to welcome Chris, Sophie, Gareth and Will to the Board. Their passion for our city and the centre of the BID, their combined knowledge and business expertise will be invaluable as we continue to deliver for our members and prepare for the upcoming BID 3 ballot.”

Carolyn Brownell, Executive Director at FOR Cardiff said: “We are thrilled to welcome four new Directors to FOR Cardiff’s Board. Each brings valuable sector expertise that will strengthen our work. Their energy, perspective and commitment will be a real asset.”

The new Directors will be formally welcomed at the next Board meeting on 29th April.
