Queen Street is home to a new window installation, with FOR Cardiff selecting University of South Wales student Bethan Roberts’ artwork to be showcased at the former New Look site.
The artwork features the lion which stands proudly on Cardiff Castle’s animal wall, alongside Cardiff landmarks from Roath Park and Cardiff Bay and encapsulates life in the city.
This collaboration highlights FOR Cardiff’s ongoing commitment to investing in local skills and creating opportunities for students to gain real-world experience. By partnering with the University South Wales (USW), FOR Cardiff continues to bridge the gap between education and industry, helping to nurture the next generation of skilled professionals.
Emily Cotterill, Associate Director at FOR Cardiff said: “We are proud to support local students and provide opportunities that allow them to apply their learning in a professional setting. This project demonstrates the quality of work being produced by emerging talent in our city.”
Liam Barrett, Illustration Lecturer at the University of South Wales said: “Working with FOR Cardiff has been an incredibly beneficial project for our students. It has given them a genuine opportunity to respond to a live brief in a real public context. Seeing the work realised at this scale has been a great experience and an amazing opportunity.”
A selection of University of South Wales responded to the brief, their work is being showcased in a Digital Gallery: USW Illustration Project – Digital Gallery
