The Welsh Tales Trail 

A magical walk-through old legends. 

On Sunday 1st March, over 600 people set off on a family-friendly adventure through the city, collecting stories from Wales’s most famous folk tales. Families immersed themselves in a world of fantasy and Welsh history for a few hours. 

Thank you for being part of FOR Cardiff’s St. David’s Day celebrations this year!

With inspiring galleries, a welcoming atmosphere and free entry, the National Museum is the perfect place to celebrate Welsh stories, music and creativity at the heart of the city. This is why it has been chosen as the last stop in the Mabinogi Tales Trail, where participants of all ages will embark on an adventure that will take them all the way from St. David’s Dewi Sant to our atrium. Bring your completed tales booklet to the museum, collect your last sticker and snap a selfie to remember St. David’s Day and the little things you did.

St. David’s Dewi Sant Shopping Centre will be the starting point for the Welsh Tales Trail, a family-friendly walk through the city inspired by Wales’s most loved folk tales. With a warm welcome, fun activities for all ages and easy access to shops, cafés and restaurants, St. David’s Dewi Sant Shopping Centre is the perfect place to start your St. David’s Day celebrations. 

Promoting and expanding the social use of the Welsh language in Cardiff, Menter Caerdydd have kindly provided proofreading services and volunteers to welcome visitors to the Trail.
