Enjoy the Music and Feel Confident in Cardiff

Cardiff is ready to welcome you for a summer filled with live music, events, and city-centre experiences. To help everyone make the most of it, we have brought together key guidance and practical information to support a safe and enjoyable visit.

Plan Your Journey

With a busy calendar of events, it is important to plan your journey in advance. Check our Travel Map for road closure updates, allow extra time for busy periods, and consider alternative routes where needed.

Public transport is often the easiest way to get into and around the city centre during major events.

Stay Aware in Busy Areas

City centre spaces may be busier than usual, especially during peak event times. Keep personal belongings secure, stay mindful of your surroundings, and agree meeting points if you are visiting with others.

If you are attending events alone or in a group, a simple plan can help everyone stay connected.

Look After Yourself and Others

Summer events are best enjoyed when everyone feels comfortable. Stay hydrated, take breaks when needed, and be mindful of weather conditions during outdoor performances.

If you see someone who needs help, please alert event staff or a steward.

There are currently registered 90 Safe Places across Cardiff. These locations provide safe, supportive spaces where anyone feeling intimidated, vulnerable or at risk can seek help, charge a phone, contact a friend or access support. The initiative forms part of a nationwide network designed to improve accessibility and reassurance within public spaces. A list of Cardiff’s ‘Safe Places’ can be found here

If you feel unsafe or uncomfortable in a bar, restaurant or nightlife setting, you can discreetly use the code phrase “is Angela here?”. Staff can then intervene appropriately and safely.

Planning to get a taxi at the end of your night? FOR Cardiff’s Night Marshals support you to get home safely.

Accessibility and Support

We want everyone to enjoy Cardiff’s summer of music. Accessibility information is available for venues and public spaces, helping you plan your visit with confidence.

If you need assistance while in the city, look out for event staff or visit designated information points.

Be Considerate in Shared Spaces

Cardiff’s city centre is shared by residents, businesses, and visitors. Please be respectful in public spaces, follow local guidance, and help keep the city welcoming for everyone.

In an Emergency

If you need urgent help, contact emergency services on 999. For non-emergencies, you can approach local stewards or visit the nearest information point.
